In The Flow...
I’m not really sure how it works but there are times in my life when things just seem to go right! Life is good, relationships are great, and things just seem to move along effortlessly.
I think part of being “in the flow” has to do with mindset and following “good habits” on a regular basis. For the past 12 years my real estate coach, Joe Stumph, opens each seminar with a self survey on how we are doing in 12 areas of our life. 1 low-10 high...how is my: mental, spiritual, physical, emotional, wealth/income, business, pleasure, family, relationships, attitude, giving, etc.
As I started to track my responses, I realized that I could change in any of these areas with a little effort.
-being thankful...acknowledging that I live a blessed life in BC-no tsunami, hurricanes, and compared to places we have been to on missions trips like Guatemala and Mexico...very little poverty ( a person on welfare in BC is in the top 90% of the wage earners in the world).
-being happy with what I have vs. “if only I had “x” - then I’d be happy” (this means keeping my “want” button/dial turned to low).
-trying to improve myself with good books-just one idea can change my thoughts and my life forever.
-surrounding myself with nourishing people-guarding myself against the negative and constant complainers.
-getting together with my accountability partner weekly-keeping a clean slate
-apologizing more often and apologizing quicker-rather than keeping tabs on who did what to who.
-prioritize what is really important to me-family, faith, integrity first.
-keeping my eyes open daily to help that one person that needs a “good word” or?
-exercise daily-helps my body and cleans up the cobwebs in my mind
-acknowledge 2 things I appreciate about Marlene daily
-turn the tube off and make time for those in my life.
-work hard and work smart in the time allotted for business ...and have a blast in the time allotted for pleasure.
-be a giving person-charitable with time, money, & a listening ear
-be present when I am having a conversation...turn off pager & phone, pay attention, try and understand
-work on having a magnetic personality...vs. making other want to run when they see me coming.
